Tori began practicing yoga several years ago as a way to de-stress from school as well as test out her flexibility while resolving to try a new challenge. She believes in the importance of both the mental and physical well being for overall health. To Tori, yoga is a life style. After realizing how impactful yoga was for her, she decided to earn her 200-hour yoga teaching certification so that she could share her passion, as well as the benefits of yoga to all. In June 2015, she was certified in Vinyasa from Yoga Bohemia in Long Beach Island, NJ. Since then, she has been instructing at Crunch Fitness in Paramus, NJ and Balance Sports Club in Nanuet, NY. She strives to incorporate a fun, laid back, yet focused and deep practice into each of her classes. Tori is currently studying Mathematics and Education and is expecting to have a career as an elementary school teacher. She encourages students to test their limits in order to reach their fullest potential and is excited by every opportunity to share her practice with others!
Happiness Begins Within
After spending 18 years traveling and performing with Ringling Brothers B&B Circus Joni settled down and that is when she discovered the transformative power of yoga. While looking for something that could challenge her physically she found a practice that could also change her spiritually. Through yoga she discovered a sense of freedom, clarity and calmness which eventually transferred from her mat into her life. Wanting to deepen her practice even more she entered the teacher training program at Power Yoga Works where she received her 200 hour teacher certification. She is passionate about helping her students find happiness and gratitude in their practice and believes that yoga should be a fun and joyful experience. It is her joy to share her passion for yoga with her students and guide them through a practice where they can connect mind, body and spirit.
Life's a Day at the Beach
Yoga to Andie means breathe. The practice of yoga is seamlessly intertwined in how we live our lives every day. After completing her YTT 200 hours at Satsang Yoga Studio in Westfield, NJ in 2012 she’s continued her education at Yoga Shanti with Colleen Saidman Yee and Rodney Yee’s 100 hour advanced TT and a mentorship with Heather Lilleston in NYC at Yoga Vida. In Andie's classes you will find that she brings a lifetime of movement, power, and flexibility to each series and an invitation to bring your breath and questions. Her goal is to show you that through the physical practice of yoga, you will feel empowered and learn more about yourself both physically and emotionally. When she’s not on her mat you can find her with her feet in the sand. An avid surfer and ocean lover she’s constantly chasing the tide. For her there is never enough time in the sunshine, but there is always time for a smile and a laugh.
Making Every Day Awesome!
Leslie is a lifelong athlete who both embraces and embodies fitness as a lifestyle and a vocation, teaching a variety of disciplines in both group and individual settings. In 2000, she began teaching yoga and this changed her personal approach to maintaining her own health and well being and also, the way she motivated others to do the same. The idea of living a healthy lifestyle is an important combination of nutrition, movement, rest and overall daily pace. Leslie’s fitness reached new heights once her focus shifted from high impact aerobics in the 80’s and 90’s to more forgiving disciplines like yoga and Pilates matwork which she specializes in today. Leslie credits organic food, yoga, Pilates, and short but intense Crossfit workouts with helping her to maintain her overall health and well being. Being a modern yogi involves making your yoga a part of everything you do taking it from the mat and delivering it to the world: the way you care for yourself and your body and the way you motivate and care for others is the most important message we share as a community of yoga teachers.
Kevin has been practicing yoga for the last 15 years and began his practice to find a moment of stillness, through meditation. He studied under Sudha Allitt to receive his 230 hour certification. Kevin's classes are welcoming to everyone as he encourages, "It's not about touching your toes, it's about what we learn on the way down."
Catherine is a New Jersey based 200-hour ERYT specializing in vinyasa and SUP yoga. With a background in dance, Catherine naturally connected with yoga when she discovered the practice as a teenager. At 21, Catherine completed her 200-hour teacher training program under Yoga Alliance and began teaching full-time. Since then, she has taught at various studios all across the state. Her students extend from North Jersey to the Jersey Shore and she is grateful for every single one of them. Ready to put her own yoga roots down, Catherine co-founded Yoga and Barre Haven, a free spirited yoga community in Clinton, NJ. Opening those doors has changed her life, as well as many others. Being a water baby at heart, Catherine still continues to teach at the Jersey Shore and spends any free time on her paddle board. This inspired her to complete her most recent training program as a SUP (stand up paddle) yoga teacher. Practicing on water, in nature, has been Catherine's greatest teacher yet. There's a lesson in every ripple of water. In the wind. In every sunrise and sunset. Catherine’s classes are fun and accessible to everyone. The environment is peaceful and non-judgmental. She incorporates creative sequencing and deep breathing, all to good music. Her purpose in life is to inspire. Spread love. Spread peace. And to find a deeper purpose in everything that she does.
